Walk to Rock Scavenger Hunt and Party on May 30, 2015 to provide heat assistance to low income elderly in Haverhill
Community Action serves about 660 in Haverhill comprised of all elderly residents with heat assistance. Of these households about 115 have total income at or below the federal poverty level of $15,730 gross for a household of two. Private donations are critical as grant monies get exhausted and households typically have minimal or no funds remaining in January or February. The Breakfast Exchange Club of Greater Haverhill is holding a major fundraiser, Walk to Rock Scavenger Hunt and Party, to assist as many of these households as possible by providing them each with a $300 voucher for heat. These funds will be made available for next winter’s heating assistance program. Please help an elder keep warm next winter. Our Scavenger Hunt starts at the Pentucket Bank building at 35 Merrimack St, Haverhill on May 30, 2015 at 4 PM. Teams are from 4 to 6 people, or you can sign up as an individual and you will be assigned a team. The Scavenger Hunt will be a walking scavenger hunt, through downtown Haverhill, visiting different businesses and points of interest. Teams will end at 7 PM at the Tap, where the Party begins. Cash prizes for winners of the Scavenger Hunt. We have a great silent auction, 50/50, and one of the hottest bands in Boston, Business Time, who has local ties to the Haverhill area. See Business Time at www.businesstimerock.com. The entire event is $40 per person and you can sign up at www.facebook.com/BECGH, or contact Diane Galvin at dgalvin@pentucketbank.com. People looking to attend the Party only can pay $30 at the door. The Party starts at 7PM at the Tap. Corporate sponsorships are available, and event tickets are included with each sponsorship level. The Breakfast Exchange Club of Greater Haverhill is an organization committed to aiding, assisting, and advocating for the elderly in the Greater Haverhill area.
