Soupçon…A Brand New Haverhill Cafe!
NEW COMMUNITY CAFE TO FEATURE HEALTHY LOCAL FOOD AND A BRAND NEW VIBE A brand new, licensed, soup cafe is set to bring some new flavor and a European vibe to downtown Haverhill. Soupçon (pronounced so͞opˈsoN) cafe will pack a punch with its menu of homemade soups and hearty breads, yoghurt, salad bar, smoothies and of course coffees, cakes and pastries. All produce will be locally, sustainably and/or ethically sourced. With its clean industrial ambiance, great music and featured local artists, Soupcon cafe hopes to bring something a little different to the Haverhill restaurant area. Founder, Lynoa Cattanach said, “I’ve always loved Haverhill with its historical downtown buildings, its flourishing arts scene, the interesting people, and fabulous location on the Merrimac River. I wanted to create somewhere that I’d like to eat and hang out while bringing together other businesses and artists to continue Haverhill’s community regeneration.” Lynoa moved to the US from Scotland 5 years ago and feels that her background in social enterprise, travel, and organic agriculture will help make Soupçon a success. Soupçon, will open at 109 Essex Street, on the ground level of the Hamel Mill Loft apartment complex (late May to early June launch is expected). The space has remained vacant for 7 years, but alongside Giving Tree Yoga next door, it will provide fantastic amenities not only for the inhabitants of the apartments but to the many commuters and shoppers who pass by the Wingate area. With full backing from Haverhill City and a block party planned in conjunction with Hamel Mill for its launch in early June, this cafe is set to get off to a roaring start. It will be open from 7AM to 7PM Daily. *Note: The word Soupçon is a French culinary term meaning ‘a small quantity of something’]]>
