Riverbend Partners with Element Care PACE providing SUD and mental health therapy to their clients
Lowell, MA – Riverbend is now providing supplemental behavioral health therapy to Element Care PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) participants at the adult day health center in Lowell. This partnership came from the growth of the PACE program and the need for additional on-site mental health counseling.
Through this partnership, Riverbend will have a clinician working out of the PACE center in Lowell three days a week that supports their participants mental well-being while their staff provides their clients a wide array of services including complete medical care, medications, transportation & occupational and physical therapy.
“Mental health is such a large part of the human experience and recovery for individuals,” said Shaun Bries, Director of Ambulatory Services at Riverbend. “We are excited to be able to partner with Element Care PACE and provide co-occurring care directly to their participants who need it.”
The Ambulatory Clinic at Riverbend is one of the few co-occurring clinics in Northeastern Massachusetts, focusing on both substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health diagnosis. The work the clinicians do out of 101 Jackson Street assists clients who are dealing with SUD, mental health, or both simultaneously.
“Caring for the mental health needs of our participants is an integral part of providing person-centered care that is compassionate and comprehensive. We are excited to partner with Riverbend to help ensure access to mental health care for our participants living with substance use disorder and other complex medical conditions.” – Dr. Marla Potter, Element Care
