Expos Open to Professionals Looking to Advance Their Education
Northern Essex Community College is partnering with its local chambers of commerce and UMass Lowell and Suffolk University-MBA North to inspire local employees to continue their education while working. The college is sponsoring Business & Technology Education Expos in Lawrence on Thursday, November 5, in partnership with the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, and in Haverhill, Tuesday, December 8, in partnership with the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce. Both programs will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. “By 2020, 70 percent of jobs in Massachusetts will require an associate degree or certificate,” said Lane Glenn, president of Northern Essex. “At these expos, employees will learn how they can earn their degree while working, even full-time.” The Lawrence event, on November 5, will be held in the Dr. Ibrahim El Hefni Allied Health& Technology Center, 414 Common St, Room 301 and 302. And, the Haverhill event, on December 8, will be held in the Hartleb Technology center, TC-103 A/B, Haverhill. Both events will include keynote speakers (Mayor Dan Rivera of Lawrence in Lawrence and Michael Moore, president and CEO of Moore Staffing Services in Haverhill) , student panels, and information on NECC, UMass Lowell, and Suffolk University MBA North programs.
