CALLING ON LOCAL BUSINESSES TO ‘PINK UP THE PORT’ THIS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH Newburyport, MA – During October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month – and all year long – Anna Jaques Hospital and the Gerrish Breast Care Center strives to raise breast cancer awareness and prevention and celebrate survivors through different community events and initiatives, including the annual photo contest, Pink Up the Port. In its fifth year, Pink Up the Port has become a meaningful way for local businesses and organizations to raise awareness in the workplace and community with the chance to be featured on the front page of the Daily News in full color. This year, Anna Jaques has partnered with the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce, Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce to make it a truly community-wide program and to encourage local businesses and organizations throughout the Greater Newburyport, Merrimack Valley, and Seacoast area region to participate. - Submit a photo capturing how your business recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month by end of day Monday, October 22nd to ksullivan@ajh.org.
- Photo submissions are voted on by the Gerrish Breast Care Center based on creativity and level of “pinkness” with extra points for incorporating awareness and prevention!
- The winning photo will be published on the front page of the Newburyport Daily News in full color the last week of October.
