HAVERHILL CHAMBER REQUESTS OLD PHOTOS AND ARTIFACTS IN PREPARATION OF “CENTURY OF COMMERCE” CELEBRATION
Looking for YOUR old photos of local people, business, and city shots, historical events from the area, as well as old Chamber and City of Haverhill Directories!
If you have images, guides, newspaper clippings, certificates or other historical significant items that will help narrate the rich business and commerce of Haverhill’s past we invite you to share! The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce will gladly accept your donations of photos, etc. through April 1, 2016. The items can be scanned and returned to you should you need them back. All items collected will be used in “story boards” at the Chamber’s 100th Annual Diner & Awards Celebration event on June 2, 2016.
This gala event will be a time to recognize the history of business and commerce in the City of Haverhill, from Shoe Manufacturing to Creative Economy, and celebrate a century of business growth and development in our region. Plans to honor businesses with longevity through special awards, such as the Longevity Award, Half-Century Award and the Centenarian Award are already in the works.
In addition to the special awards, the Chamber’s Annual Charles E. Billups Award, Jerry Loy Award, Community Leader award and the Chamber Service award will also be presented to very deserving local business owners for their outstanding efforts during the past year.
Anyone interested in supporting the 100th Annual Dinner & Awards Celebration, or wishing to purchase tickets to the event can gather more information at www.HaverhillChamber.com or may call the office at 978-373-5663 or email Melissa Seavey at melissa@haverhillchamber.com.
