GHCC Corporate Challenge Nets Nearly $7K for Haverhill Police
The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce issued a Corporate Challenge to its member business community a month ago. After learning of Haverhill Police Department’s need for Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) devices for first responder cars, it became a priority to assist.
Haverhill PD began the process of outfitting their vehicles to better serve the local community. As HPD officers are usually the first to arrive on emergency medical calls the addition of this valuable tool will assist in saving more lives when responding to the scene of a “code blue” call. Each unit is priced at approximately $1,500 and is not accounted for in the annual HPD Budget.
Through a series of stories, email blasts and telephone calls GHCC staff was able to collect corporate donations as well as collect individual donations at their events. The effort was a success and resulted in the overall donation by GHCC to the Haverhill Police Department in the amount of $6, 590.
GHCC would like to thank the following contributors to the cause: Summit Behavioral Health, Pentucket Bank, Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Staff, Haverhill Bank, Align Credit Union, Nunan Florist & Greenhouses and Haverhill Housing Authority.
“We at the Greater Haverhill Chamber are proud to be a partner to Chief DeNaro and his team in this effort,” said Stacey Bruzzese, President & CEO of GHCC. “It is only through collaborative efforts such as these that we can continue to provide the very best for both the business community and the public at large,” Bruzzese concluded.
