Greater Haverhill Chamber Honors Two with First Annual Chamber Service Award
The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the winners of the first Annual Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) Service Award. Created to recognize a local business person who has committed themselves to the promotion of the mission and values of the Chamber contributing to the quality and breadth of resources available for the local business community and the community at large. This award will become part of the Annual Dinner Awards Celebration. This year there will be two recipients of this new and noteworthy award, both for dedication of time and resources far exceeding the expectations of a member.
Cheryl Dick of Northern Essex Community College, will receive the award for her countless hours of support. Dick worked diligently alongside the Chamber’s bookkeeper on a time consuming and critical project, often spending her personal time, evenings and weekends to offer support and instruction. Her working knowledge of in-house systems was vital to the successful outcome of the project. Dick continues to provide support and coaching when necessary.
Mary Ellen Lawlor of ServPro of Haverhill/Newburyport will receive the award for her years of commitment, leadership and promotion of GHCC and its programs. Lawlor has been a long time ambassador of the chamber, offering time and skill to mentor new Chamber members. Additionally, she has been instrumental in the planning and execution of the Chamber’s downtown events, playing a vital role in the 2014 Chillfest endeavor. Lawlor regularly steps into leadership roles on committees and at events. Her unwavering support of the Chamber staff and programs has resulted in successful programs and opportunities for new and prospective members.
Both Dick and Lawlor will be honored at the 2015 Annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at DiBurro’s of Ward Hill. Reservation may be made by contact Beth Morrow at the Chamber office at (978) 373-5663. Additional information may be found at www.haverhillchamber.com.
Once again we congratulate Cheryl Dick and Mary Ellen Lawlor on their accomplishments.
