Blue Ocean Music Hall hosts 5th Anniversary Bash featuring Entrain; 300 Complimentary Tickets Offered to patrons

Show slated for Saturday, November 1 at 8:00pm

(Salisbury, MA) November 9, 2014 marks five years that Blue Ocean Music Hall on Salisbury Beach will be offering concerts with acclaimed national acts in a state-of-the-art, intimate venue at the ocean’s edge.  Since 2009, the music hall has welcomed more than 100,000 ticket-buyers for 347 shows.

Featuring arena-quality sound and seats no more than 50 feet from the stage, the 12,000 square-foot Blue Ocean Music Hall presents national and regional acts in a wide range of genres, from rock and R&B to jazz and country, as well as comedy shows.  Headliners have included Little River Band, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, .38 Special, Marshall Tucker Band, Little Feat, The Waterboys and Blues Traveler as well as Ingrid Michaelson, Todd Rundgren, Kenny G., Colbie Caillat, Phil Vassar, Frankie Ballard, Robert Cray and many more.

“Not only are we celebrating Blue Ocean Music Hall’s 5th anniversary, we are also celebrating bringing nationally acclaimed acts back to Salisbury Beach for the first time since the 60’s,” said owner Wayne Capolupo.  “Even more importantly,  for the first time ever, these acts are coming to Salisbury year-round rather than just during the summer season.”

“What makes Blue Ocean unique is the ability to give live music fans an intimate concert experience with popular national acts,” said Bob Duteau, Vice President of Booking for Live Nation and Blue Ocean’s talent buyer.  “The sound is exceptional, the sightlines are optimal, and the venue is so intimate that acts can really connect to the audience during a show.  Blue Ocean makes it easy for me to repeat headline acts–they always want to come back.”

ABOUT ENTRAIN
Epic in sound and kaleidoscopic in vision, the eclectic Martha’s Vineyard-based six piece Entrain, formed by drummer Tom Major in 1993, includes conga/djembe/trombonist Sam Holmstock, lead singer/guitarist wiz
Brian Alex, bassist M’Talewa, saxophonist/percussionist Phillip Young and keyboardist Tony Falcetti. Their collective resume includes stints with such diverse players as Bo Diddley, Carly Simon, Chuck Berry, Southside Johnny, James Montgomery, Flor De Cana, and Blood Sweet and Tears.  They have also taken the stage with James Taylor and former President Bill Clinton.

Entrain has recorded eight albums, with musical selections ranging from rock, blues, calypso and ska, to zydeco, jazz and funk – often within the same song. The whole Entrain concept is based around drums and infectious rhythms. “The most important thing that we try to do with our music is bring everybody together in the spirit of peace, love, fun and a ton of drums,” says Major.  Their song “Dancin’ in The Light” has been featured in a national TV and radio commercial for The Sylvania Light Company.  Several tracks from their fourth CD “All One” are also featured in the Artisan film Cutaway.
